Artificial intelligence imagines 41 countries as supervillains
Because A.I. is going Global: 🌍 (very light hearted post)
Case Study: National Supervillains Come to Life by Midjourney
Hey Guys, sometimes it’s just fun to see how A.I. is entertaining.
Fair warning, this is a light-hearted post.
Generative AI artist Lucas Freitas used Midjourney to turn 41 countries into supervillains. I guess we could call them a prompt-engineer artist, or whatever the contemporary term might be.
So let’s take a quick visual inspection of his work and make a tour of the countries and their myths and mythological in the era of text-to-image solutions. Midjourney has its own vibe.
Many of the national supervillains seem inspired by folklore, the prompt was likely nudged in that direction.
How to Midjourney
Midjourney is great because of the low barrier to use, just hop on a Discord and you are nearly there.
Users interact with Midjourney by issuing commands through a Discord application (known as a “bot”).
The command takes the form, /imagine prompt {PROMPT TEXT}
, with users able to set various flags and other settings to get a specific image from Midjourney.
The order is going to be somewhat random:

We generated this article’s title image in Midjourney with the prompt “Supervillains representing several countries walking towards camera with an explosion in the background”.
Don’t be too scared okay, these aren’t real - they are only A.I. generated.
I’ll start with the baddie countries first.
