When OpenAI had its coup, and erased any semblance of trust & safety researchers from its board, you knew Anthropic and Inflection, both well funded in their own right, would try to capitalize on the moment of weakness.

With Sam Altman completely selling out to Microsoft, customers began to panic. Of course there are already great options like Cohere (Canada), A21 Labs (Israel) and Aleph Alpha (Germany) that feel a lot more agnostic than Silicon Valley itself.

Inflection, and Bill Gates, keep saying that we’ll all have personal assistants soon. It has that pushy Microsoft sort of vibe.

Inflection has deep historical ties to Google and Microsoft and the legacy Venture Capital establishment. On November 22nd, 2023 Inflection launched Inflection-2.
