Hey Everyone,

As you know part of my job at

AI Supremacy
is to track the U.S. vs. China context in A.I. There was a story in late November that really caught my attention.

U.S. officials are worried that G42, an Abu Dhabi-based artificial intelligence firm that last month announced a partnership with OpenAI, could enable China’s government to gain access to advanced U.S. technology and generic data on Americans, The New York Times reported.

While the U.S. is having a way stronger economic recovery to the pandemic, China’s investment in global diplomacy and economic partnerships with South America, Africa and the Middle East among other regions is notable as is the Global South and more countries like Pakistan. In short while the U.S. has done A.I. better in 2023, China has been doing a diplomacy-trade blize with the developing world that could pay dividends in the future.

I think with Abu Dhabi and China’s potential involvement with G42, this is what we are witnessing in 2023.

The A.I. arms race and global influence is a long gam.

So who are G42?

G42, founded in 2018 in the United Arab Emirates, is being probed by the CIA and other American spy agencies for its collaboration with large Chinese companies, including the US-sanctioned Huawei Technologies.
