Will ByteDance Compete with Character.AI, Midjourney or OpenAI Directly?
The way young people use AI is so not ChatGPT.

In 2024 we’re expecting Google to release Gemini which hopefully is more impactful than Bard was. There will be a lot of early failures in Generative A.I. products and interfaces and ChatGPT shows it doesn’t matter how much search traffic you are getting if your product is not entertaining or useful.
Since GenZ and Alpha are the main early adopters of Generative A.I. tools, some companies have advantages in building out those products. One such company is ByteDance, the maker of TikTok and other apps. They are among the best app producers with A.I. in the world with the marketing budget to accelerate their plans in Generative A.I.
Here’s where things start to get interesting in December, 2023. ByteDance, the Chinese owner of TikTok, is reportedly planning to unveil a new platform this month so it can compete better with OpenAI. According to a memo seen by the South China Morning Post, the unnamed “bot development platform” will give users a tool to create their own generative AI-powered chatbots.
Snap has done really well with its my A.I. for becoming a more sticky app. Just what will ByteDance do with TikTok and A.I. there is clearly a lot of potential. Even as Meta continues to clone the ideas of others, ByteDance has the ability to innovate with LLMs in a way that we haven’t quite seen yet with the new craze.
